Ben Affleck has opened up about his time in Ireland (and his Riverdance aspirations) in a recent interview with Irish presenter Crossy.

"Oh, I love Ireland,” Affleck, who is in the midst of promoting his latest film "The Accountant 2," told Crossy.

“Gosh, maybe it’s been a couple of years now, when we were there for 'The Last Duel,' that was three years or whatever it was.

"We ended up staying because of Covid, actually.

"I got to spend some time and just hang out, which was amazing.”

The Boston native continued: “I’d love to go back. Maybe take the kids back this summer, I think maybe that's the move."

"I love it, I really do," he said, "I love Ireland."

Affleck went on to reveal that - no surprise! - his best pal Matt Damon, who famously shacked up in Ireland during the pandemic, also has great grá for the country.

“Matt liked it - the Irish were very good to Matt," Affleck said.

"He was like, 'Wow! Maybe I should move here!'

"[I said] it'll get old, They'll get over you. Don't worry about it."

Damon arrived in Ireland with his family to begin shooting "The Last Duel" in March 2020, right as the world essentially shut down due to the pandemic.

His quarantine in Dublin became one of the more curious narratives to emerge during the pandemic as the actor endeared himself to Dalkey residents and the larger Irish population during his stay.

Locals frequently spotted him in local eateries prior to the shutdown in late March, and he was often seen walking and jogging on Killiney Hill.

He was also notably spotted with a SuperValu bag full of swimming gear as he prepared to go swimming on Easter Weekend in a photograph that has since gone viral.

He endeared himself with the locals even further when he sent a video to graduating students of Loreto Abbey - a local high school - to congratulate them on what would have been their final day of school.

Dalkey locals even shooed off a New York Times reporter looking for an inside scoop on the actor's quarantine life, protecting Damon as if he were one of their own.

Finally speaking to an Irish radio station in May 2020, Damon described his time in Ireland as a "fairytale."

Later in the interview, Affleck joked that perhaps he'll try his hand - er, feet - at some Irish dancing.

“I feel like maybe there's a Riverdance in my future," he said.

“Maybe genetically, that might be more in tune with me.

"I’m waiting for the call!

"Now that I have a reputation, people know what a great dancer I am, I expect there’ll be demand!”
