Shane MacGowan is out of the hospital after a lengthy stay that was preceded by time in an ICU.

“Shane got out of the hospital!” MacGowan’s wife Victoria Mary Clarke said on X, formerly Twitter, today, November 22.

“We are deeply and eternally grateful to all of the doctors and nurses and staff at St Vincent’s it’s the best!"

Clarke also gave special thanks to Tom Creagh and Brian Corscadden for their help.

In her post, Clarke shared a photo of MacGowan, donning a cap and scarf, still in his hospital bed but with a smile on his face:

Clarke revealed in July that MacGowan had been hospitalized after a stay in the ICU. However, it is not clear what MacGowan was being treated for.

In recent weeks, Clarke made appeals on social media for MacGowan's friends and fans to keep the Pogues frontman in their thoughts, as well as to share special memories.

During his hospital stay, MacGowan received a number of visitors, most recently from fellow Irish singer-songwriter Imelda May.

His release from the hospital comes less than a week after Clarke posted on X that Shane was "feeling much better."

Shane is feeling much better today! I am so grateful to everyone who is willing him to get home for the Christmas! ⁦@ShaneMacGowan⁩ ⁦@poguesofficial⁩ ⁦@EtainsDreampic.twitter.com/7x3heVEvTZ
