Irish actor Barry Keoghan has been named 2024 Man of the Year by Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the oldest theatrical society in the US, commonly known as simply 'The Pudding.'
Keoghan, noted for his "iconic" performances in "Dunkirk," "The Killing of a Sacred Deer," "Eternals," "The Banshees of Inisherin," and "Saltburn," is being celebrated by The Pudding for his "truly unique and impactful presence in the world of entertainment.
Dublin native Keoghan is the 57th person to receive the Man of the Year Award which, launched in 1967, is generally presented to performers who have made a lasting contribution to the world of entertainment.

The Pudding's Man of the Year festivities will take place on Friday, February 2, at Farkas Hall, which has been the Pudding's historic home in Harvard Square since 1888.
Keoghan will receive a Pudding Pot at the ceremony, while the organization will also host a celebratory roast for the Irish actor.
Keoghan will then attend a performance of the Pudding's 175th production "Heist Heist Baby."

Producer Madison Pankey said in a statement that Keoghan was a fully deserving recipient of the Man of the Year Award, stating that he had made an "eternal" impact on the arts in a nod to Keoghan's performance in the 2021 Marvel movie "The Eternals."
"We’re excited to see him dance through our day of celebrations, although we hope he understands birthday suit doesn’t count as black-tie," Pankey said.
Man of the Year Coordinator Aidan Golub described Keoghan as the "perfect choice" for the Man of the Year Award, making reference to his recent eye-catching appearance in the acclaimed film "Saltburn."
"We are feverishly locking up all gravesites and bathtubs in anticipation of Barry’s arrival to Harvard," Golun said in a statement.
"With experience as both superhero and supervillain, Barry Keoghan is the perfect choice to fight to earn his Pudding Pot on February 2nd."
Previous recipients of the Pudding Pot include Harrison Ford, Ryan Reynolds, Robert De Niro, and Clint Eastwood.
