Northern Ireland coast, home to the Giant's Causeway and some of the most dramatic countryside in the world, has been named among the best on Earth

Stretching from Derry~Londonderry to Belfast the County Antrim coastline is renowned for its beauty and increasingly popular due to its Game of Thrones fame. Now it's been named among the best coastal routes in the world, according to CNN Travel.

As the travel experts point out "coastlines are one of the most alluring of our planet's geographical features.

"The clash of land and water is often mesmerizing, as are the plants, animals and human activities that flourish along a shore."

The Antrim Coastline was chosen among the world's 16 top coastlines alongside Big Sur, California and the Garden Route, in South Africa, to name but a few.

And quite frankly we're inclined to agree. Check out the video we made recently having spent an amazing 32 hours along the County Antrim coast

Hugging the Atlantic coast from Derry~Londonderry to Belfast – or vice versa – the Causeway Coastal Route is studded with sandy beaches, fishing villages, gorse-covered valleys, and fuchsia-edged clifftop paths. Absorbing this epic landscape from the car is wonderful, but the other senses could be missing out!

The sounds of the crashing waves, the birds soaring up above, the salty taste from the sea on your lips and the wind whistling past your ears – these are all part of this legendary land’s beauty.

What CNN had to say?

"Long before popular TV series "Games of Thrones" was filmed here, the Antrim Coast was renowned for its stark, natural beauty.

"The Giant's Causeway, an estimated 40,000 basalt columns created by an ancient volcanic eruption, is one of its stand out sites.

"Visitors can hike the shore on the Causeway Coast Way, a 51-kilometer trail that includes the vertigo-inducing Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge.
