Solace House, the suicide and self-harm prevention charity based in Long Island City and Yonkers, is based on a model of Irish charity Pieta House
Solace House, an offshoot of the Irish suicide prevention charity Pieta House, is hosting its first annual Christmas Gala this weekend in New York City and you’re invited.
On Saturday, December 7, guests will be treated to a buffet, open bar, and live music from Kickin’ Nash to usher in the holiday season at the iconic Rosie O’Grady’s on 52nd Street in New York City.
Tickets for the event are $150 per person, and all proceeds directly benefit the New York-based charity Solace House. Sponsorship opportunities for the event are also still available.
Our Christmas Gala will be held at Rosie O'Grady's in Midtown Manhattan on Saturday, Dec. 7th 2019. You can find more event information and purchase tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/77192682391Publiée par Solace House sur Mardi 3 décembre 2019
Solace House provides free, confidential, one-on-one counseling for people who are in suicidal distress, have made a suicide attempt, engage in self-harm and/or have been bereaved by suicide. The charity also offers family support, group bereavement counseling, and free community awareness workshops and training.
A critical priority for Solace House is the ability to meet community needs and expand our organization’s current counseling hours across our two locations in Long Island City, Queens and Yonkers, New York.
In addition to its upcoming Christmas Gala, Solace House is able to raise funds for its mission partly through its annual Sunrise Run / Walk 5K in the spring, and this year hosted its inaugural Sunset Walk in November.
The holidays can be a particularly hard time for those struggling with their mental health. By supporting Solace House, you will be part of the movement of creating a world without suicide.
