IrishCentral is partnering with the third annual IrelandWeek in Los Angeles, presenting 15-plus events over eight days.

Academy-Award-winner Anjelica Huston, Emmy-Award-winners Chris O’Dowd, and Fionnula Flanagan, and multiple Emmy-Award-nominee Roma Downey are to serve as patrons at this year’s third annual IrelandWeek kicking off in Los Angeles on November 1.

Hosting 15 plus events over the course of eight days around the city, IrelandWeek will once again celebrate the close cultural, trade, entertainment, and economic ties between Ireland and Los Angeles through a series of educational and cultural activities, including live music and theatre, visual arts, film, TV, sports and animation offerings.

This year, IrishCentral is partnering with IrelandWeek to bring you more from the events happening over November 1 - 8.

As always, the week’s events start off this year with IrelandCon, the flagship conference which has sold out the last two years and attracted city and government officials, celebrities, and a who’s who of industry leaders in tech, trade, and entertainment.

IrelandCon will present an expanded schedule, with panel discussions covering a range of topics such as Brexit, Ireland’s tech innovation and rise in successful start-ups, the country’s strong tax incentives for film productions, and its economic boom which has fueled major corporate investment from around the world.

“IrelandWeek has emerged as a perfect platform to showcase and promote the wealth and breadth of Irish creative talent and innovation on the international stage,” said IrelandWeek Co-Founder Deirdre O’Neill-Machin.

“With sold-out events the last two years, IrelandWeek has continued to build upon its success, and we’re thrilled to return again to celebrate in the city of LA.”

Los Angeles has an extra reason to celebrate at IrelandWeek this year as the events take place just weeks after the opening of a new Irish Consulate in the city. The Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar (Prime Minister) wrapped up a two-day trade mission to Los Angeles in September with the opening of the new consulate.

Other events throughout IrelandWeek will include Flashmob Irish dancing, Irish Screen America Film Festival, a Seamus Heaney Symposium, a Music from Ireland Showcase and a Celebration of Irish Theater.
