New York GAA and Mayo GAA have named their panels ahead of Sunday's Connacht GAA Senior Football Championship quarter-final at Gaelic Park in The Bronx.

Throw-in for Sunday's sold-out clash is at 3 pm EST, while the game will be available to stream on GAAGO.

The Connacht SFC Quarter Final is always one of the biggest days of the year in the Irish / Irish American enclave of the Woodlawn section of the Bronx, affectionately known as ‘Little Ireland,’ and the neighboring ‘Emerald Mile’ stretch of McLean Avenue in Yonkers.

New York recorded a dramatic and historic victory over Leitrim in last year's quarter-final, their first-ever victory since joining the Connacht Championship in 1999.

However, The Exiles are unlikely to repeat the feat on Sunday afternoon, with Mayo red-hot favorites to claim victory.

Mayo, who strolled to a 21-point victory when the sides last met at Gaelic Park in 2019, have played in four All Ireland finals since 2016, losing on each occasion.

Mayo manager Kevin McStay has named a strong line-up ahead of Sunday's clash, taking no chances after his Roscommon side narrowly avoided an upset in Gaelic Park in 2016

McStay has named an experienced side with no debutants for Sunday's game, with Mayo stalwarts such as Aidan O'Shea and Patrick Durcan named among the starting XV.

Only five Mayo players who featured in the 2019 victory over New York have been named to start on Sunday - O'Shea, Durcan, Fergal Boland, Stephen Coen, and Matthew Ruane.

Cillian O'Connor - the top scorer in All Ireland football history - has been named among the Mayo substitutes.

Meanwhile, New York GAA manager Alan O'Mara told IrishCentral that his side is "here to compete" on Sunday. It's the Cavan native's first time managing the squad after being appointed to the manager role in December.

The winner of Sunday's quarter-final will progress to a semi-final meeting with Roscommon, which will take place on April 21.
