“Irish Wish,” Lindsay Lohan’s new romcom filmed and set in Ireland, is set to arrive on Netflix on March 15, 2024, according to a January 3 report in Vulture.

Lohan, 37, stars as Maddie in "Irish Wish," a Netflix synopsis of which says: "When the love of her life gets engaged to her best-friend, Maddie puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland.

"Days before the pair are set to marry, Maddie makes a spontaneous wish for true love, only to wake up as the bride-to-be.

"With her dream seeming to come true, Maddie soon realizes that her real soulmate is someone else entirely."

In "Irish Wish," Lohan stars alongside Jane Seymour, Elizabeth Tan, Ed Speleers, Alexander Vlahos, and Ayesha Curry.

The new romcom is directed by Janeen Damian ("Falling for Christmas," "High Strung Free Dance") and written by Kirsten Hansen.

"Irish Wish" is part of Lohan's two-picture creative partnership with Netflix - her other rom-com, "Falling for Christmas," arrived on the streamer in November 2022.

An August 2022 casting call on MovieExtras.ie sought a camera body double for a "well-known actress" for the "Irish Wish" film shoot in Dublin and Wicklow between September and October.

"Applicants must be willing to have hair dyed red for role if selected," the casting call noted.

Western People also reported that the movie is set to film in Co Mayo.

Lohan, who shot to fame in "The Parent Trap" and "Mean Girls," was pictured around Ireland in September 2022, and even posed with the crew at The Bridge Tavern in Co Wicklow.

Lindsay Lohan’s Irish roots

Lindsay Lohan was born on July 2, 1986, in the Irish American Woodlawn neighborhood of The Bronx but she and her family moved to Long Island soon after she was born.

Her mother Donata 'Dina' Melina Nicolette Lohan (née Sullivan) came from a well-known Irish American family that traced its roots back to Co Cork.

Dina, who had her own stage ambitions and worked as a singer and dancer, married Michael Lohan, another Irish Catholic with Co Cork roots.
