A 99-year-old woman attending a Daniel O'Donnell concert with her granddaughter was delighted to sing "Danny Boy" with her hero. 

Kitty Cosgrave, 99, was out for a night on the town with her granddaughter at Daniel O'Donnell's Wexford Opera House concert when the beloved singer decided to have a chat.

O'Donnell asked Kitty how she was feeling ("good!") and where she was from (Ballinaboola, Co. Wexford) before inquiring what her favorite song is.

The answer? "Danny Boy" of course! 

O'Donnell delighted Kitty and the whole audience with his reply: "Well, we'd better give it a go."

With his arm around her, Wee Daniel serenaded Kitty, and she joined in, making it an extra special performance of the classic Irish ballad.

Kitty's niece, Val Cosgrave, told the Irish Mirror that her gran is "a massive fan of Daniel's, she listens to him every evening on her daughter Bernadette's mobile. She is absolutely incredible". 

This isn't the first time O'Donnell has gone the extra mile. In 2018 he surprised one lucky fan during an Aer Lingus flight when he took over the intercom to sing her Happy Birthday
