The remarkable friendship between Donegal labrador Ben and his dolphin pal Duggie, which went viral a couple of years ago, is still making headlines.

Ben and Duggie swim together every day off at Middletown, on Tory Island, sometimes spending up to three hours a time together, said Ben’s owner, Pat Doohan, according to The Epoch Times.

Duggie, a female dolphin, lost her mate in 2006. That’s when she started to come into the Middletown harbor.

Duggie soon met Ben and they’ve played together nearly every day since.

Incredible footage of the two playing together was captured by a BBC camera crew a few years ago.

Adam Henson, presenter of the BBC show “Countryfile” said, “This is absolutely amazing…Swimming around in the water, I have never seen anything like it.”
