Harrington was the overnight leader after a blistering six under par 64 on Thursday, and shot another round under par to leave him in pole position ahead of the weekend's play

"I was a lot more cautious and conservative today, which is to be expected," Harrington told pga.com after the round.

"When you are leading the tournament you are afraid of making mistakes, and that showed up in my game today, " he continued.

"I am happy to have broken 70, and if I do that a couple of more times this weekend I will be very pleased."

Harrington was happy with his short game and how he was holing putts, and said that said that his two good days could be attributed to the fact that he was concentrating on playing his game rather than on the mechanics of his swing.

Harrington had a steady round shooting two birdies, and his only bogey in the first 36 holes of play came at the par 4 8th hole.

Tiger Woods shot an even par 70 and is five shots behind the leaders.
