Indie Authors Ireland was born as a Facebook group in August 2023. We are now a collective of almost 220 self-publishing authors, whether working with a small press, doing it all ourselves, hybrid, or just learning about self-publishing in general.
The group has developed into a warm community of writers, either from Ireland, expats, or living in Ireland. We have members all over Ireland, and as far as Northern Europe and Southeast Asia. The online community is active and full of conversations, advice, and knowledge sharing for those going it alone in the publishing world. After a couple of years of successful growth and social meetups, it was no wonder an anthology was next on the cards!
With over 50 contributors, "Rewind – A Collection" has hit the number one spot on the Amazon.ie bestsellers list for poetry anthologies, and short story collections, as well as great rankings in new releases and other general lists. 100% of the proceeds go to Ireland’s Autism Charity As I Am, www.asiam.ie.
This eclectic anthology boasts a broad range of genres and styles, including poetry, prose, short fiction and essays. It also includes a poignant foreword from Adam Harris, founder and CEO of As I Am, Ireland’s Autism Charity. The collection also has a preface from Roisin Coyne, a member of Indie Authors Ireland. Roisin is autistic and published her first book at just 19 years of age.
Professional members volunteered their time to edit and design the amazing book cover, while other members formatted, proofread and generally supported the project. It has been a very special coming together for the group.
The Kindle version of "Rewind" was published a week before the paperback, which went live on Saturday, June 7. Rewind has ranked No. 1 since then.
The figures are looking good, but Indie Authors Ireland are an ambitious bunch and the more success the book has for such a wonderful cause as As I Am, the more they want!
