Kendall A got back on track after last week’s defeat to MPS by recording a resounding 7-1 victory over Blackbeard FC at Danehy Park on Saturday afternoon.

The first half saw the visitors defend resolutely, but Kendall did lead at the break thanks to a superb 20-yard shot by Sean Kaukas.

Francis Mulkern, Ben Denton-Schneider and Kaukas (his second of the game) made it 4-0 inside the opening 10 minutes of the second half to put the game well beyond the visitors. Blackbeard were unable to stem the tide, and further goals from Todd Shigo, Tim Prior and Robbie Sabadoz put Kendall in seventh heaven.

Evan Weagle had another impressive game between the posts for Kendall, but he was denied a clean sheet when Blackbeard pulled one back five minutes from time.

It was a disappointing day for Kendall B as they made the trek all the way out to Lancaster only to lose 3-1 to Milford Lusitanos.

Recent acquisition David Clifford gave the Bs the lead in the first half when he coolly rounded the Milford ‘keeper following a Chris Scearbo centre.

That was as good as it got, however, as Milford equalised before half time and added two more goals in the second half to leapfrog over Kendall into second in the BSSL Division 2 table.

Promotion to the top flight is still a possibility, but the Bs know they will have to shore up defensively in the run-in to realise that ambition.

Elsewhere, the C side’s hopes of moving into the top half of the BSSL Division 3N table were dented as they lost 1-0 away to PAC Lawrence in Andover.

Both Over 30 sides performed well on Sunday morning, with a win and a draw garnered from their fixtures.

The A side were left short of numbers at the back for their NEOTHSL Division 2S clash with Taunton Eagles, but the central defensive partnership of Matt Scheufele and Brian Mozeleski performed admirably for the entire 90 minutes at Danehy Park.

The Kendall trailed 1-0 at the break, but they secured a deserved point with 10 minutes remaining when Scheufele converted a penalty after player/manager Aidan Finnan’s free-kick was handled in the area.

The Over 30 B side maintained their NEOTHSL Division 5S push with a convincing 5-1 win away to Dover-Sherborn Old Boys.

Star striker Justin Teman hit a hat-trick for Lar Barden’s charges, with Johnny Kilpatrick and Tim Boomer also on the scoresheet.
