Planning a trip to Cork city then you're in luck; the area is known for its delicious food and we can't get these five dishes out of our heads.

Cork is a real foodie county, known for its high-quality produce and three Michelin-starred restaurants. If you decide to stick to the city for your grub then you’re in for a treat; there are endless options, from upscale and elegant, to lowkey and casual, so there will definitely be something on offer to suit everyone.

Read on to find out the five dishes we want to eat in Cork City this weekend.

Baharat Carrot and Lemon Macroom Ricotta Bruschetta

Good Day Deli, the garden at Nano Nangle Place

These spice roasted carrots look so good that we want to reach through our screens and grab them. Using local ingredients, like Macroom ricotta, is a sure fire way to make your food taste great. If this dish tastes half as good as it looks, we reckon Good Day Deli is on to a winner.

Orange, Pistachio and Rose Cake

Pink Moon, Washington Street

This gorgeous café is known for its exciting food and stellar coffee, but it's this cake that has us excited. Orange and pistachio go so well together that we're sure this cake tastes great and the light dusting of rose petals on top adds a lovely, indulgent touch. Looks like the perfect weekend treat to us.

Acai Smoothie Bowl

Loving Salads, Academy Street and Washington Street

Healthy food doesn't have to be boring and the options at Loving Salads prove that true. With heaps of salads and juices on the menu, this is a great place to head if you're looking for a nutrition boost. We especially love the look of their acai smoothie bowl: the vibrant colors and array of tropical fruits make us think of warmer climes and sunny beaches.

Sri Lanka Style Fish Curry

Market Lane Restaurant and Bar, Oliver Plunkett Street

There's something very special about a fish curry, especially when you know it packs a punch. This curry from Market Lane combines vibrant Sri Lankan flavors with delicate fresh fish and looks so good that we want to jump on the train to Cork right now. A must-eat if you're in the Rebel County.

Eggs Cornelius

Lab 82, Glanmire Road

A little different to your usual brunch dish, the Eggs Cornelius from Lab 82 in Cork is comprised of two poached eggs, corn salsa, chorizo cornbread and Chipotle hollandaise with smoked paprika popcorn. If your mouth isn't already watering then, pair the dish with a smooth coffee or a Chin Chin Lab-style hot chocolate and you're on to a winner.
