The Irish rock legends and country music icon teamed up on Torn, a song about fractured family relationships, which will feature on U2’s upcoming album "Carnaval De Luz".
The track was written by U2, the late country superstar Dolly Parton, and Snow Patrol songwriter Johnny McDaid, bringing together two very different musical worlds.
"Carnaval De Luz" will be U2’s 16th studio album and their first collection of new material since Songs Of Surrender. The album’s first single, "Street Of Dreams", arrived earlier this year.
The new record features 12 songs exploring themes including friendship, spirituality, freedom, and finding hope during difficult times.
It is also arriving in a landmark year for the Dublin band, which formed 50 years ago after a young Larry Mullen Jr. put a handwritten notice on the board at Mount Temple Comprehensive School looking for musicians.
Bono has described the new album in a typically colorful fashion, promising plenty of guitars, bass, big rhythms, and emotional moments.

He said the songs were created against a backdrop of darkness and uncertainty, adding that the band wanted the music to shine all the brighter.
The Edge has also teased a more experimental side to the record, describing it as a “messy, provocative, sacred collection of songs”.
The album will be released on November 13.
For U2 fans, however, it is likely to be the Bono and Dolly Parton collaboration that steals the spotlight, making Torn one of the most intriguing tracks on the new album.
