Ruairi McCabe from Morgan in the North West Region of England defended his title from 2011 in the Boys 9-10 event, and clinched First Place in both recall rounds as well.
Ronan Kelly of Sylvan Kelly in the Connaught Region of Ireland also defended his title from 2011 in the Boys 11-12 event. Kelly holds the 2011 World Irish Dancing Championship for Boys under 11. Darragh McGranaghan from Smith McCarron in the Ulster Region of Ireland took first place for the heavy recall round and Joseph McGeown from Murchu Duiginn in the Southern Region of England won the light recall round for Boys 11-12.
Of 28 entrants in the Boys 10-11 event, three North Americans competed. Patrick Grant from Butler-Fearon-O'Connor in Eastern Canada, Tadgh Spillane from Lavin-Cassidy in Illinois and Sean Reagan from Inishfree New York all recalled and placed 6th, 11th and 10th, respectively.
