Eight young ladies from Illinois' Lavin-Cassidy School of Irish Dance clinched the top spot on the podium for the Sub Minor Ceili competition at the 2012 All-Ireland Irish Dancing Championships today.  As the only North American team registered to compete, they outperformed sixteen teams from Ireland and one from England/Wales!

In 2010, Lavin-Cassidy won the prestigious World Irish Dancing Championship for Under 12 Girls Ceili.

Lavin-Cassidy is the proud home of four First Place team trophies from the Middle America Regional Irish Dancing Championships held this past November.  The Under 15 Girls Ceili, Under 12 Girls Ceili, Under 12 Mixed Ceili and Under 10 Girls Ceili all beat the stiff competition for the championships.  In addition, the school had two additional Under 10 Girls Ceili teams which placed 2nd and 8th at the Oireachtas.
