The famous Irish dancer brings his talents to the big screen

Michael Flatley’s eagerly awaited first film will have its world premiere at the Raindance Film Festival in London this week. "Blackbird' was written and directed by "Lord of the Dance" star Michael Flatley.

The film tells the story of troubled secret agent "Blackbird" who abruptly retires from services and heads to the Caribbean to open a nightclub in hopes of escaping his past. An old flame arrives, and while she reignites his love life, she also brings along danger.

Featured in the film Irish actor Patrick Bergin, who is best known for his role in the hit thriller "Sleeping with the Enemy" and "Patriot Games".

The film also stars Lara Lemon, Nicole Evans, and Eric Roberts, as well as Belfast native and "Game of Thrones" star Ian Beattie.

In July, Michael Flatley tweeted that making a movie was a childhood dream of his.

As well as having a private screening of "Blackbird" at London's Raindance Film Festival, Michael Flatley will also be sitting on the festival’s jury.

Raindance Film Festival, the largest Indie film festival in the UK, begins in London on September 26 and runs through October 7.
