Meghan Markle and British Prince Harry have released their official engagement photos taken by celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski.

Showing off the engagement ring designed by Harry in both portraits, they were shot by Lubomirski, whose other subjects have included Julia Roberts and Angelina Jolie, at Frogmore House, Windsor Castle.

After announcing their engagement on November 27, the couple are set to marry at St George’s Chapel, Windsor on 19 May.

The first of their official engagement photos shows Irish American actress Markle holding her fiance’s face in her hands in black and white. The second is a more formal colored portrait of her sitting at his feet on the steps of Fromore.

“It was an incredible honour to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be witness to this young couple’s love for one another,” said Lubomirski.

“I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together.”

It is reported that Markle, 36, intends to become a British citizen. She will also be baptized and confirmed within the Church of England before the wedding date.

The "Suits" actress' great-great-great-grandmother Mary Smith emigrated to London from Ireland and married a British soldier named Thomas Bird sometime in the mid-1800s.
