Conan O’Brien continued his jaunt around Ireland this week with a visit to Galbally, Co Limerick to explore his roots.

"Hey, I found my piece of the Auld Sod!" O'Brien captioned his video posted today, Thursday, January 11.

"This is pretty cool, I'm just outside the town of Galbally," O'Brien said.

"This is where my great-grandfather, Thomas O'Brien, lived. This was actually his view.

"He left this piece of land, came to America, moved to central Massachusetts and, well, the rest is a disaster.

"But anyway, cool to be back."

On Wednesday, O'Brien had met up with local man Jim Fitzgerald, who runs the Galbally Community page on Facebook, in Co Limerick.

"My great-grandfather left Galbally I think in the 1870s and we're going to go see where his house used to be," O'Brien, standing beside Fitzgerald, said in the video shared on the Galbally Community page.

"This is where it all started, and now we're back," O'Brien remarked. "This is very nice."

Fitzgerald captioned the video saying: “What a day. I met one of America's most famous TV Presenters in Galbally village.

“He is in the area searching for his roots.

“We had a good chat which will be broadcast in the USA. Later this year. A very interesting day.”

Limerick is the latest stop in Ireland for O'Brien who has been pictured in Dublin, Tipperary, and Galway in recent days.

It's believed that the Irish American funnyman is in Ireland filming for his new travel show "Conan O'Brien Must Go." His previous travel show, "Conan Without Borders," won an Emmy in 2018 in addition to receiving an Emmy nomination the following year.

O'Brien, a native of Boston, has frequently leaned into his Irish roots throughout his comedic career. In 1999, he filmed a segment in Ireland for "Late Night with Conan O’Brien," which saw him play a clueless American tourist.

O'Brien's paternal grandfather William O'Brien was from Co Cork and his paternal grandmother Mary McCallion was from Co Donegal. He once claimed his doctor was stunned to see his DNA showed he was "100% Irish."
