Hollywood heart‑throb Brad Pitt is in Ireland, and we are excited to finally find out just where he will be filming his new movie and where fans can catch a glimpse of the star.
The Oscar winner jetted into Dublin last week to start filming his new movie One for All, and he’s been holed up in the plush seaside suburb of Dalkey ever since.
The south Dublin hotspot has become a magnet for A‑listers, with Matt Damon famously calling it home during lockdown in 2020, and now Pitt is following in his footsteps.
The actor is reportedly spending two weeks shooting scenes for the upcoming A24 drama, based on Tim Winton’s novel The Riders, and has already been spotted at Bullock Harbour, cameras rolling.
Locals say Dalkey and nearby Killiney have never been short on star power, with the stretch around Vico Road and Sorrento Terrace known as Ireland’s very own ‘celebrity coast.’
This new movie is a joint effort between Brad Pitt and director Edward Berger, and parts of the story are set in Ireland, making this little island of ours a major backdrop for the adaptation of the 1994 book. They will put Ireland once again on the map in Hollywood as a stunning film location.
Many gorgeous locations in County Wicklow feature in the film, with Brad Pitt spotted around Lough Tay, which is affectionately known as The Guinness Lake, due to its unusual brown/black colour and white foam. Other locations include Dublin city, Cork city and County Kerry.
Ireland is not the only stunning location Pitt will visit, as the film crew will later move on to warmer climes, with filming set to continue in the Greek Islands. The Isle of Hydra in Greece is a definite location, along with other hotspots throughout Europe, which have not yet been confirmed.
Boardwalk Empire star Julianne Nicholson plays opposite Brad Pitt in this latest endeavour, which should hit the big screen in 2027.
So if you want to catch a glimpse of Hollywood royalty, better get on down to County Wicklow and hang out around the Guinness Lake for the next few days, and bring a brolly.
