The businessmen have been in a war of words in recent weeks, with billionaire Musk even jibing that he would buy the budget airline and put a Ryan in charge.

The clash between the duo seems to stem from Ryanair’s opposition of in-flight Wi-Fi.

Musk sells in-flight Wi-Fi through Space X’s Starlink satellite service, which O’Leary has repeatedly dismissed as too expensive for the budget business model.

On Tuesday evening, a statement shared to the Ryanair social platforms revealed the CEO was calling a press conference in Dublin on Wednesday to "address/unadress Elon Musk twitter tantrum."

The statement read: "Ryanair CEO, Michael O’Leary has called a press conference at 10:00 tomorrow (Wed, 21 Jan) in Dublin to address (undress??) Elon Musk’s latest Twitsh*t.

Elon Musk.

Elon Musk.

"Musk knows even less about airline ownership rules than he does about aircraft aerodynamics," said O’Leary.

"‘Perhaps Musk needs break?? Ryanair is launching a Great Idiots seat sale especially for Elon and any other idiots on “X”. 100,000 seats for just €16.99 one-way.

"Buy now before Musk gets one!!!!"

Speaking last week, Mr O’Leary rejected any consideration of installing Starlink in-flight, noting it was too expensive for the airline’s low-cost business model.

O’Leary claimed that it would cost between $200 million and $250 million annually to install the antennae needed to access Starlink satellites.

Following O’Leary’s rejection of the idea, Musk hit back branding him an "utter idiot" and calling on him to be fired.

This then sparked the X owner to be advised to buy the airline and sack O’Leary himself.

Over the weekend, Ryanair were quick to jump in following news that X had suffered a widespread outage across the United States of America.

The X page for the airline, shared a news article, asking: "perhaps you need Wi-Fi @elonmusk?"

The X owner responded: "Should I buy Ryan Air and put someone whose actual name is Ryan in charge?"

The latest jibe from Ryanair’s social team prompted plenty of online reaction, with one person noting: "The @Ryanair media team taking no prisoners while milking every last bit of publicity and free advertising it can — living legends."

Another called: "Elon is buying Ryanair now 100%."

A third joked: "Imagine being roasted by an airline that charges you to breath, when you’re the richest person on earth."
