Irish boxer John Duddy has just broken thousands of Irish hearts! He's finally marrying long-time sweetheart Grainne Coll in Derry.
The two were due to marry at a small ceremony in the Beech Hill hotel in the Waterside Sunday.
Duddy and Grainne have been together for 10 years but found it difficult to set a date because of Duddy's boxing schedule.
The happy couple will spend their honeymoon touring Ireland before Duddy has to start preparing or his October 10 bout at Madison Square Garden.
Duddy's father Mickey said the couple had found it hard to get their big day organized.
“It's been difficult for them to get a date organised with John |always away fighting so it's just brilliant for them to be finally tying the knot,” he said.
“The wedding is going to be a small, intimate affair with just the two immediate families present. John would hate for it to be a high-profile do.”
Duddy is expected to take on Mexican Jorge (Michi) Munoz in his eighth professional fight at Madison Square Garden where has never lost.
A win at Madison Square Garden would hand Duddy a fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr next year.
This is Duddy's first return to the ring since his split decision loss to Billy Lyell in April.
