After appearing on the hit TV show "House Hunters International", an American woman has swapped the Golden State for the rural countryside of Donegal, Ireland.

After taking a trip to Ireland over two years ago, Kelly Patri was compelled to move there.

The California woman had a dream of finding a picturesque cottage just outside Donegal town. Thanks to the hit TV show, her vision became a reality.

Patri viewed three cottages in the Donegal towns of Laghy, Ballintra, and Disert with the help of her local friend Maria Murphy and estate agent Keith G. Anderson.

Patri eventually settled on the "vintage style" cottage in Disert to the northwest of Donegal Town.

After selling her home and pet care businesses in San Diego, Patri relocated to the rolling countryside and set about restoring the cottage.

She is now happily living in her re-decorated home, surrounded by her animals, and is volunteering at Donegal Donkey Sanctuary.
