Primark Brooklyn location to open soon!

The opening date for the Brooklyn, New York, Primark location will be revealed soon and we could not be more excited. Get ready to stock up on your summer t-shirts for the sweltering NY days as the Irish fashion brand finally comes to a second New York borough.

Known as Penneys in Ireland, the chain of stores has steadily been expanding into the market in the US to the delight of both old-hands in the Irish community and the Americans who are just discovering its cheap fashion frills for the first time.

Located in Kings Plaza Shopping Center (5100 Kings Plaza, Brooklyn), the Primark Brooklyn location will open very soon and we’re wondering if it too early to start lining up outside to get our hands on some $3 sunglasses and $7 tops and skirts.

Brooklyn’s Primark will cover 57,900-square-foot with clothing, shoes and accessories for men, women and children, as well as beauty products and home goods. There will be 56 fitting rooms and 42 registers with free Wi-Fi available as well for those who are not big shoppers.

This is the second Primark location in the New York area with a store opening up in Staten Island in 2017. There are also stores in New Jersey and Philadelphia while the very first one opened in Boston to the joy of the Irish living there.

It’s a common joke in Ireland that many Irish people will reply to a compliment on their clothes with a self-deprecating “Thanks, Penneys” so expect to hear plenty of that going on in New York this summer.
