Further down the list is Leo Varadkar, the Taoiseach, or Prime Minister, of Ireland with only 26 percent of those polled knowing who he is.

YouGov found that British people have ranked Taoiseach Leo Varadkar as the 19th most popular foreign politician and the 21st most famous. Varadkar is described by fans in Great Britain as “knowledgeable, confident, commanding, empathetic and humorous.”

Varadkar was elected as Taoiseach of Ireland in June 2017 at only 38 years old, making him the youngest Taoiseach ever. He is also the first openly gay Taoiseach, as well as the first Taoiseach of Indian descent.
