A treasured Dublin tradition makes its much-anticipated return. From November 28 to January 5, The Moving Crib will once again open its doors at 42 Parnell Square West, offering families and individuals a chance to rediscover the wonder of Christmas.
With free entry for all, the attraction continues to enchant visitors with its charm, history, and heartwarming message. For nearly 70 years, The Moving Crib has been a centerpiece of Dublin’s Christmas celebrations, captivating generations with its displays.
Its handcrafted nativity scenes breathe life into the story of Christmas, featuring intricately painted figurines of Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, and the many figures who complete the biblical tableau.
Visitors are invited to see the three wise men and their camels embark on their symbolic journey, all brought to life through the artistry and care that defines this beloved tradition.
"This event has been a cornerstone of our community’s Christmas spirit for generations," said Darragh Murphy, General Manager of the Saint Martin Apostolate, which oversees the event.
"We’re thrilled to once again offer this unique experience that brings faith, community, and joy to life."
Adding to the festive spirit, a special performance by the Bray Gospel Choir will take place on December 1st from 12 noon to 3:30 PM. Their lively renditions of classic carols, gospel, and soul music promise to fill the air with seasonal cheer, inviting everyone to join in the celebration.
Both the choir performance and entry to The Moving Crib are completely free, though donations are gratefully welcomed to help sustain this cherished event for years to come. The venue will be open daily from 11 am to 5:30 pm, with closures on Christmas Day, St. Stephen’s Day, and New Year’s Day.
This Christmas, don’t miss the chance to step into a magical world where tradition and togetherness shine bright. The Moving Crib isn’t just an attraction—it’s a memory waiting to be made.
