Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton will be honoured with the Sutherland Leadership Award at the 2025 Business & Finance Leadership Awards, which take place at the Convention Centre Dublin on Thursday, December 11, in association with KPMG.

Clinton will travel to Dublin to accept the award in person at the gala dinner hosted by Business & Finance, which will welcome over 1,000 global business, political, and social leaders to Dublin.

Established in 2018 with the support of the Sutherland family, the award honours the legacy of the late Peter Sutherland – a transformative figure in European and global affairs – and celebrates individuals whose leadership and values reflect his vision of ethical governance, global cooperation, and public service.

Organizers say that as a former US Secretary of State, US Senator, and First Lady, Secretary Clinton has been recognised throughout her decades-long career as one of the most influential public servants of her generation.

Secretary Clinton joins a distinguished list of previous Sutherland Leadership Award recipients, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde, former Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Henry (Hank) Paulson, Dame Louise Richardson, and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi.

Ian Hyland, President and Publisher of Business & Finance, said: "Secretary Clinton has long exemplified the values of ethical leadership, diplomacy and public service that Peter Sutherland stood for.

"Her commitment to advancing peace, equality and global cooperation continues to inspire people around the world.

"It is a privilege to honour Secretary Clinton with the Sutherland Leadership Award in recognition of her truly remarkable achievements and ongoing leadership, so necessary today."

Ryan McCarthy, Managing Partner, KPMG, said: "Secretary Clinton has consistently demonstrated the calibre of leadership, resilience and global perspective that the Sutherland Leadership Award seeks to honour. Her decades of public service, dedication to human rights, and a deep commitment to global cooperation make her a truly deserving recipient. KPMG is very proud to support this important recognition of such an inspiring leader."

Organizers noted that Clinton will receive this year's Sutherland Leadership Award the same year she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the US, in recognition of her lifelong commitment to democracy, equality, and global progress.
