Willie Clinton, a 91-year-old Irish man, recorded his first-ever hole-in-one last weekend with an inspirational ace on a Dublin golf course.

Clinton proudly held his ball aloft after acing the 159-meter par 3 at Forrest Little Golf Club in Dublin last weekend.

The golf club posted a video of the momentous achievement on their social media channels alongside the caption, "Huge congrats to Willie Clinton, who, at 91, had his first ever hole-in-one at the 11th last weekend."

In the video shared online, Willie's son Aaron says: "I don't see a ball, honestly.

"Go over there and check. Honestly, I don’t see a ball. Quick."

Clinton then strolled over to the green and plucked his ball from the hole, prompting a huge smile to break out over his face.

Not only did Clinton manage to ace a 159-meter hole in his 90s, but he also walked the entire course - a remarkable feat for someone of his age.

The Irish Independent, who notes that Clinton was a former League of Ireland football player, says that Clinton has been a member of Forrest Little Golf Club for more than 55 years.

“He's blown away by all the hype," Aaron told the Irish Independent.

"All the grandkids are coming to congratulate him. Sure, loads of people get a hole-in-one, but as we said, they are not all 91.

“With the family around him, he loves it. We all play golf, and he lives for Wednesday and Friday golf, and if the weekend is on, he'll take it.

“Of course, we can’t forget his beautiful wife Phyllis, who puts up with his golf obsession, or as she calls it, his ‘madness'.

“I've seen him go close to a hole-in-one before only to find the ball elsewhere on the green or gone too long.”

Clinton's hole-in-one video pulled on the heartstrings of social media users from all over the world.

One social media user said the video "made their day", while another described it as "heartwarming."

"Golf at its absolute finest!" said one social media user on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"An inspiration to golfers of all ages," said another.

"Greatest Game Ever delivers again! Great shot Willie! I like your crew too! Play Well!" wrote a third.

Located in Swords, Co Dublin, Forrest Little Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland golf course notable for its lush vegetation and well-maintained fairways.
