A sixth person, a teenager, was charged today, Wednesday, January 24, in relation to the serious incident in Blanchardstown, Dublin on Sunday, December 24, Christmas Eve.

An Garda Síochána confirmed on Tuesday that a sixth person had been arrested earlier that morning and was detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí announced on Wednesday morning that the suspect had been charged and was due to appear before the Children’s Court in Dublin 7 on Wednesday morning.

Gardaí said investigations into the serious incident are ongoing.

RTÉ reports that the latest suspect, a 17-year-old boy, was charged with violent disorder and remanded on strict bail conditions by the Children's Court on Wednesday.

The suspect cannot be named legally as he is a minor. His mother was present in court on Wednesday morning.

According to The Irish Sun, Garda John Hayes told Judge Stephanie Coggins that the accused made no reply when he was charged on Tuesday evening.

Hayes said directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) are being sought, and "there is a possibility of further charges."

Defense solicitor Tertius Van Eeden said in court that the teen had no prior convictions and "never set foot in court before today.”

Van Eeden said the accused handed himself in and was not a flight risk.

Garda Hayes agreed to a range of "strict" bail conditions for the suspect.

Judge Coggins, following a request from the solicitor, ordered the media not to report the date of the suspect's next court appearance.

Judge Coggins additionally ordered the media not to report on the bail conditions.

Gardaí say that at approximately 8 pm on Sunday, December 24, two gunmen entered a premises on Main Street in Blanchardstown, Dublin, and a number of shots were fired.

One of the gunmen, 26-year-old Tristan Sherry, was killed during the attack.

48-year-old Jason Hennessy Sr was shot during the attack and died days later in Mater Hospital Dublin from his injuries. Gardaí have launched a separate murder investigation into Hennessy's death.

As of Wednesday, seven individuals have been arrested in relation to the incident and six have been charged, including the teen earlier today.

David Amah, 18, Michael Andrecut, 22, and a minor have been charged with Sherry's murder.

Wayne Deegan, 25, has been charged with production of knife, violent disorder, and assault, and Jonas Kabangu, 18, has been charged with engaging in violent disorder.
