A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of Tristan Sherry, who was killed following a botched shooting at a Dublin restaurant on Christmas Eve.
The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, appeared before the Dublin District Court on Saturday morning.
Detective Garda Tom McCarrick of Blanchardstown Detective Unit addressed the court on Saturday and gave evidence of the boy's arrest, charge, and caution.
Det. Garda McCarrick told the court that he charged the boy in the presence of his mother in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He is the fourth person to be charged in connection with the murder of Tristan Sherry.
Michael Andrecut, 22, was charged with Sherry's murder at the end of December, while 18-year-old David Amah was also charged with murder on January 5.
Wayne Deegan, 25, was charged with assault causing harm, producing a knife, and violent disorder on January 5.
A fifth man was arrested in connection to Sherry's murder earlier this week but was subsequently released without charge.
Sherry, a 26-year-old father of one, was killed after he opened fire at Browne's Steakhouse in Dublin on Christmas Eve.
Jason Hennessy Sr., 48, was seriously injured during the shooting and died of his injuries 11 days later.
The investigation into Hennessy's death remains ongoing, with gardaí still seeking information about a second gunman who entered the restaurant with Sherry.
Shortly after the incident took place, gardaí said they were aware of video of the incident and the immediate aftermath circulating on social media.
"We are appealing to the public for these videos not to be further distributed," An Garda Síochána said in a statement.
Gardaí have also advised the public to be aware of a high level of speculation, misinformation, and disinformation surrounding the incident.
