Astronomers in Ireland have found 26 extra-solar planets using a new system called SuperWASP and are leading the way in the discovery of more planets around other stars and are set to reveal all about planet hunting at a lecture this month.

A team from Queens University in Belfast, led by Dr. Don Pollaco developed the planet-finding system SuperWASP, which has completely changed the hunt for exosolar planets, says Irish Weather Online.

Dr Pollaco will give this month’s lecture on behalf of the organization at Trinity College and will explain in detail how he and his team searches for the planets as well as share breathtaking images with the audience.

Dr Pollaco is set to educate the audience on how SuperWASP works and will share the idea of the “Goldilocks Zone,” a place in which the temperature is perfectly fit for people to survive in and for life to evolve.
