Give thanks for the wonderful holiday season of Thanksgiving! Although it's most certainly an American celebration us Irish just look the thought of celebrating our gratitude and having a wonderful feast surrounded by good friends and family.
With Thanksgiving comes traditional American holiday foods – think yams, green beans, and pecan pie. Weird as it might sound, we love the idea of marshmallow-topped sweet potatoes, cornbread and pumpkin pie, alongside our turkey and roasted potatoes.
Thanksgiving has become more popular than ever in Ireland as the number of American expats emigrating to the Emerald Isle increases.
There are now numerous locations across the country that serve up an American feast for Thanksgiving, so we've picked our top three favourites from around the country for you to enjoy the festivities at:
Thanksgiving at Ashford Castle, County Mayo
One of the most luxurious venues in the country, Ashford Castle will be holding a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings this month. Promising a seasonal meal crafted by executive head chef Jonathan Keane, there will also be entertainment on the night. Don't forget to try some eggnog!

Thanksgiving at The Twelve, Galway
The Twelve Hotel in Galway is holding its own Thanksgiving celebration on the evening of the 22nd. Offering a unique twist on the typical celebrations, dinner at The Twelve will consist of a multi-course meal designed by head chef Martin O'Donnell accompanied by special wine pairings from Tindal Wines.
General manager Fergus O'Halloran was recently conferred as a Chevalier of the Order of The Golden Sabre, which is the association for those who can open Champagne bottles with the sabrage method. Guests will be in for a treat on the night as Fergus will be demonstrating the technique on the night!

Thanksgiving Dinner at Beaufield Mews, Dublin
Known as Dublin's oldest restaurant Beaufield Mews in Dundrum will hold a Thanksgiving dinner full of fun this year. With a four-course meal on offer, including Goatsbridge caviar and pumpkin pie, plus live music and an All-American Quiz, it sounds like Beaufield Mews will be the place to be this Thanksgiving.

As well as this, there will be eggnog cocktails and traditional American tipples available from the bar on the night.
