Irish singer and songwriter Van Morrison has divorced Michelle Rocca, according to a statement released by Morrison.
“Last week, in Dublin, I was granted a divorce,” he said.
“At my age, I have found it to be a hugely wearying, protracted experience and I’m relieved that it has finally reached a conclusion.”

The 72-year-old thanked his family and friends “for providing respite from the storm over the past eight years.” He added: “You know who you are and I’m eternally grateful.”

In 2015, Rocca was involved in a High Court action aimed at stopping refurbishment work by neighbors in Dublin, The Irish Times reports.She said the planning action should be rejected as it would give the neighbors unimpeded views into her home, and she claimed privacy was an important consideration for her celebrity husband.

Morrison issued a statement immediately saying that he had never lived int he house, and his estranged wife subsequently dropped the case.
Morrison has two children with Rocca, a former Miss Ireland and model. The couple has been legally separated since September 2013.
