Irish American actress Saoirse Ronan sent social media into a tizzy last night, Thursday, May 22, with her appearance at a Louis Vuitton fashion show in Avignon, France.

Ronan, 31, looked chic - as usual! - in a silky black gown at the star-studded event where Nicolas Ghesquière presented his Louis Vuitton Women’s Cruise 2026 Collection at the Palais des Papes.

But it wasn't Ronan's frock that got people talking - by the looks of things, the Oscar-nominated actress might be expecting her first child.

On Friday, the Irish Independent - citing a source close to Ronan and her husband Jack Lowden - confirmed that the couple is indeed expecting, with the source saying the two are "thrilled."

The duo, whose low-key romance is rumored to have begun after they both starred in the 2018 flick “Mary Queen of Scots,” tied the knot last July in a hush-hush ceremony in Lowden's native Scotland.

The two actors collaborated as producers through their outfit Arcade Pictures on the screen adaptation of Amy Liptrot's memoir "The Outrun," in which Ronan starred.

In November, Ronan, who was born in New York and raised in Co Carlow, discussed the idea of marriage and children with Vogue.

“Yeah, I do,” she said when asked if she wanted things like marriage and children.

“I became successful when I was quite young. So it meant that, actually, by the time I found my partner, I’m now at the stage where if it happened, I would like to have a kid.

"I feel fortunate enough that if I step out of this [the entertainment business] for a minute, I’m hopefully not giving it up forever. But, yeah, I’ve always wanted that.”
