Bieber and McGregor connected over the Irishman's Proper 12 whiskey
Justin Bieber has revealed on social media that he is “like 60 percent Irish," prompting a shoutout from Irish fighter Conor McGregor.
On Saturday, Bieber shared with his millions of Instagram followers: “Just found out I’m like 60 percent Irish."
“Shout out Ireland,” he added, alongside an image of the Irish flag.
The revelation came after Bieber’s father Jeremy posted a picture with Conor McGregor’s Irish whiskey Proper 12:
In turn, McGregor, who recently announced his retirement from MMA fighting, gave Bieber a shoutout on Twitter:
Justin is a top young man!— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 20, 2019
Training hard on the @McGregorFast program also.
Real excited to see the results and hear his latest music this summer.
Thank you @justinbieber and father @JeremyBieber!
The Irish runs deep with the Bieber’s.
Shoutout my young bro Johner Bieber also. https://t.co/bJJWDqWRPR
Turns out Bieber and McGregor aren’t exactly strangers - last year, after McGregor was infamously arrested for tossing a barricade into a bus at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Bieber said “I think Conor will be fine,” said Bieber, “we all make mistakes.”
