Since news broke of Justin Bieber's proposal to Irish American social media sensation Hailey Baldwin, fans are both shocked, devastated, and elated.
The Canadian chart-topper has reportedly popped the question to his on/off again squeeze, Hailey Baldwin.
Hailey (21) is a well-known fashion model and bona fide Instagram celebrity, with over 12 million followers tracing her every move.
Baldwin is, of course, an offspring of the acting dynasty helmed by her dad Stephen, and his brothers Alec, William, and Daniel.
The four brothers have starred in countless movies, campaigns, television shows, and have achieved Hollywood Royalty status - but did you know that they hail from a predominantly Irish American town in Long Island?
The thespians were born to hardworking Catholic parents, Alexander and Carol Baldwin, in Massapequa on the south shore.
In Ireland, the surname Baldwin can be traced back to Donegal. According to Ancestry.com, the name was adopted by bearers of the Gaelic name Ó Maolagáin (Milligan), due to maol being the Irish word for ‘bald’ or ‘hairless’.
Hailey's uncle Alec is particularly proud of his Irish Catholic heritage. During Trump's travel ban in January 2017, the actor tweeted the following:

The "30 Rock" star even named his eldest daughter Ireland. Alas, when once asked why he called his daughter after the Emerald Isle, Baldwin retalliated, "because she's beautiful but she can't manage her finances". OUCH!
However, he did try his hand at speaking at speaking Gaeilge, treating "30 Rock" viewers to the cupla focal on one memorable episode... so maybe we will forgive him for his diss at Ireland's monetary woes!
Alas, while Alec is vocal about his links with Eire and Catholicism, his brother Stephen (Hailey's father) is more often heard talking about being a born-again Evangelical Christian who supports Donald Trump.
In his 2006 book, The Unusual Suspect, Stephen details that personal issues and drug abuse led him down a new religious path. It is also common knowledge that Hailey was raised with a strong affiliation with religion.
She previously told Teen Vogue,
"I was raised in church. I was brought up in that life, and I think that it's very important for everybody to be in touch with their spirituality and to have a relationship with God. Not everybody is going to believe in the God that I believe in, but it's something that I'm not afraid to share with people because I know how it inspires me — how it positively affects my life. So if you don't like it, no one is saying that you have to follow what I follow, but I should be free to talk about what I want to. I think that God kind of put me in the place in my life to not be quiet about it, not be quiet about him, but to reach people and to inspire people."
Justin Bieber is also notably quite religious - bearing several tattoos that represent his faith. Just this past Easter, the 24-year-old performer called himself a "child of the most high God" and said that religion set him free from "bondage and shame".
Meanwhile, Irish fans have taken to Twitter to weigh in on news of the couple's shotgun engagement. It is believed that the duo have only been dating since May 2018 - albeit they did previously have a fleeting romance for a few months in early 2016.
Judging by Twitter-sphere, one thing is apparent: Irish females seem to be vehemently on Team Selena, referring to Bieber's long-time love, Selena Gomez.
On the other hand, those who aren't preoccupied with Gomez are evidently banking on chances of their own future with the Beebs.
