With a director in place and the script being written for the next James Bond film, there is now much speculation about who will be the next Bond girl -- and award-winning Jessie Buckley leads the way.

James Bond fans finally had some exciting news to get their teeth into last year when Amazon MGM Studios took creative control of the franchise.

Denis Villeneuve was revealed as the director of the next film, and Steven Knight was confirmed to pen the script.

Several leading men continue to be linked to the suave spy role on betting sites, and speculation about the movie's leading lady has also been rife.

James Leyfield, the Entertainment expert at Gambling.com, which specializes in comparing and ranking online gambling sites', has created a market on who will be the next Bond girl.

Jessie Buckley has had a great start to 2026, having won a Best Actress accolade at the Golden Globe Awards and repeated the feat at the Critics' Choice Awards.

The Irish actress triumphed for her leading role in Hamnet - in which she plays William Shakespeare's wife - and she is widely tipped to win this year's Best Actress prize at the Oscars.

Buckley also tops the Next Bond Girl market at +150 on betting apps, and she once appeared alongside the favorite to be the next 007.

Meanwhile, Callum Turner is the latest frontrunner to don the suave spy's tuxedo, but that market lead has changed hands several times since Daniel Craig departed the role in 2021's No Time To Die.

If Turner and Buckley do land the main roles, it wouldn't be the first time they have co-starred in a project.

Another 2026 awards season success story is Erin Doherty. The Adolescence star has started this year as she ended the last, winning countless prizes for her portrayal of forensic psychologist Briony Ariston in the hard-hitting Netflix miniseries.

Erin is just +200 to be the next Bond Girl, but she and Jessie face stiff competition from several other awards season powerhouses. Ana de Armas. Sydney Sweeney, Florence Pugh, and Zendaya.

Another star who shouldn't be completely ruled out is Saoirse Ronan (10/1), who has previously stated that she is open to being in a Bond film, but would prefer a villain role.
