Irish singer-songwriter Hozier and his new album "Unreal Unearth" were noticeably absent in the 2024 GRAMMY nominations which were announced today, November 10.

Released in August, Hozier's third studio album "Unreal Unearth" debuted at number one on the Irish and UK charts and received generally favorable reviews, according to a cumulative score on Metacritic.

The album which was recorded largely during the pandemic features a beautifully curated selection of Irish language lyrics and, not surprisingly, Irish influence.

Upon its release, the album received a feature on GRAMMY.com where it was noted that it "creates a captivating tale that only a voice like Hozier's could narrate."

GRAMMY.com further said that Hozier created a new album "that fits right in with the deeply thoughtful lyricism and beautifully layered soundscapes of his previous releases, but with a sense of reinvigoration."

The nominations snub also comes less than two weeks after Hozier played an intimate performance at the GRAMMY Museum where he discussed his creative process, career, and new album.

Despite the apparent GRAMMY buzz around Hozier in recent months, the Irish singer-songwriter continues to have had only one nomination - Song Of The Year for 2014 for his breakout hit "Take Me to Church" at the 57th GRAMMY Awards.

Hozier, real name Andrew Hozier Byrne, made no mention of the apparent snub on his social media channels on Friday. Instead, he continued to hype up his new collaboration with American singer-songwriter Noah Kahan as they released “Northern Attitude.”

When I first heard Northern Attitude, I loved it immediately.

I’ve had the great pleasure of getting to know @NoahKahan more since we first sang together at @ironblossomrva and I’m so glad we could get together on this version of his beautiful song.https://t.co/bqkauEFkgI pic.twitter.com/JYmHxvatBh

The two singers, noted for their quirky, endearing senses of humor, let fans know earlier in the week that they are “no longer allowed to listen” to Kahan’s original version of the song once the Hozier collab was released on Friday:

Meanwhile, Hozier continues to promote his newly-announced 2024 "Unreal Unearth" tour dates, which include stops across the US as well as a show in Dublin.

After the sweetest run of US shows, I’m delighted to announce these brand new #UnrealUnearth tour dates for next year ?

Tour tickets go on sale on November 17th, I can’t wait to be back and I hope to see you there.
