Derry Girls star Louisa Harland took to the red carpet on Wednesday for the premiere of her latest acting venture, The Walsh Sisters.
The first season of the new RTÉ and BBC comedy-drama, which is an adaptation of Marian Keyes’ The Walsh Sisters, hits TV screens next week.
Louise stars alongside Caroline Menton, Danielle Galligan, Máiréad Tyers and Stefanie Preissner.
It comes three years after she wrapped up filming with Derry Girls, with her co-stars also going from strength to strength following the conclusion of the BBC sitcom…
SAOIRSE-MONICA JACKSON
Derry woman Saoirse, who played Erin Quinn, has had various roles post Derry Girls across both TV and film.
In 2023, Saoirse played a small role as Patty Spivot in the DC Comics superhero film, The Flash and the following year appeared in the black comedy miniseries, The Decameron.
This year, the actress starred as Cheryl Crawford in BBC One crime drama This City is Ours and had the lead role in Channel 5’s The Trial.
In her personal life, Saoirse wed Scottish DJ Hector Barbour, who goes by the stage name Denis Sulta. The pair last year revealed their engagement and tied the knot in August 2025 in Kerry.

JAMIE-LEE O’DONNELL
Jamie-Lee O’Donnell played wild child, Michelle Mallon, in the group and has been kept busy following Derry Girls, appearing in her very own documentary, The Real Derry: Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, as well as a short film and movie, Unwelcome.
This year, she featured on Channel 5’s The Feud and is also among the cast for the new RTÉ and BBC3 TV series, Leonard and Hungry Paul.
The show is an adaptation of Rónán Hession’s book of the same name, with Jamie-Lee playing Shelley.
This year also saw Jamie-Lee star in the music video for Belfast rap group Kneecap’s latest song, Sayōnara.

NICOLA COUGHLAN
Clare Deviln actor, Nicola Coughlan, is fast becoming acting royalty due to her ongoing role as Penelope Featherington in Netflix’s Bridgerton.
Last year, Nicola hit out at the ‘reductive and boring’ narrative surrounding her supposed bravery for baring all in the latest season of the Netflix show.
The third season saw Penelope and her love interest, Colin’s relationship highlighted with a six-minute intimate scene playing out in one episode.

Speaking to TIME, Nicola admitted she was ‘so proud’ of the scene, but hit out: ‘Don’t call me brave. I have a cracking pair of boobs.
‘There’s nothing brave about that, that’s actually just me showing them off.’
Couglan also stars in Channel 4’s Big Mood, which earned her her first ever BAFTA nomination as well as Best Comedy Performance at the TV Choice Awards 2025.
In 2023, Nicola appeared among a star-studded cast for the Barbie movie, when she played Diplomat Barbie.
Nicola is set to appear in two movies in the foreseeable, Goat is set for release in 2026, and The Magic Faraway Tree has yet to have a release date.
LOUISE HARLAND

Dublin actress Louisa’s latest venture sees her take up the role of Anna Walsh in Marian Keyes’ The Walsh Sisters. The six-part series, a joint collaboration by RTÉ and the BBC, is based on the books Rachel’s Holiday and Anybody Out There.
It will be her biggest role since her lead role in Disney+’s Renegade Nell, which was released last March and saw Harland play the titular Nell, a young fugitive framed for murder.
DYLAN LLEWELLYN
Following on from his time as James Maguire in Derry Girls, Surrey native Dylan had lead roles in TV shows Pistol, Big Boys and Beyond Paradise.
Channel 4’s Big Boys saw Dylan, alongside Jon Pointing, star as first-year Uni students who live together and navigate college life.
The show wrapped up in 2025, but Dylan can still be seen on Death in Paradise spin-off, Death in Paradise where he plays Constable Kelby Hartford.
