France ……… 17 pts
Ireland ……… 17 pts

Tommy Bowe scored two sensational tries as Ireland came so close to victory at the Stade de France on Sunday afternoon.

Some three weeks after the original game was frozen off, Ireland were red hot for much of this stirring encounter.

Ospreys winger Bowe crossed the French line not once but twice in an amazing opening half from the visitors.

Those two Bowe tries and two conversions and a penalty from Jonny Sexton helped Ireland to a 17-6 half-time lead.

But France rallied well after the break and pulled level courtesy of centre Wesley Fofana with kicker Morgan Perra scoring the rest of their points.

Both teams had chances to win it in the dying minutes but Ireland held on for a draw and a result that ends French hopes of a Grand Slam.

Ireland scrum-half Conor Murray was stretchered off late on with a worrying knee injury ahead of next weekend’s Dublin date with Scotland.

This is the sixth time the teams have drawn, the first time in the Six Nations.
