LGBT activist Dr. Rory O’Neill married his partner Anderson Cabrera

Dr. Rory O’Neill, LGBT activist who is perhaps better known by his drag queen persona ‘Panti Bliss,’ married his partner Anderson Cabrera on July 10 in Dublin.

O’Neill shared the exciting news on Twitter saying “So...we had a big day today:”

He also swiftly updated his Twitter handle to reflect his new name, Dr. Panti Bliss-Cabrera.

The newlyweds donned pale blue blazers, dark pants, and sneakers for the ceremony and were joined by a crowd of family and friends for the big day.

Dr. O’Neill is an advocate for LGBT rights and was at the forefront of the campaign for same-sex marriage in Ireland which became law following a referendum vote in 2015.

Ahead of the referendum vote, Dr. O’Neill released the documentary ‘The Queen of Ireland’ in which he discusses growing up gay in Ireland.

The Co Mayo native owns the iconic Panti Bar in Dublin City, a nod to his drag persona Panti Bliss, who he refers to as 'The Queen of Ireland.'
