Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan will be in New York beginning next Monday, September 18 for a series of UN related meetings, and local Irish community activities.

Among his engagements are meetings with Enterprise Ireland and the Coalition of Irish Immigration Centers. He will also give a keynote address at the Fordham University School of Law on the topic “Ireland and the European Union in Changing Times.”

The opening of the UN General Assembly will take place on Tuesday morning and the remainder of his week will be taken up with UN related business. 

On Thursday evening, Flanagan will be guest of honor at a community reception which will also celebrate 20 years of the Aisling Irish Community Center.  That same evening will feature the launch of a new exhibition presenting the work of Irish American historians and authors entitled, “1916 – 2016 Proclaiming the American Story.”
