Being told you look like the Oscar winning Aussie actress Cate Blanchett isn’t a bad thing…unless you’re a guy.

That’s one indignity poor Domhnall Gleeson says he’s had to endure, and even worse, he’s also been told that he resembles Tilda Swinton, the tall, rather androgynous looking Oscar winner.

“I went through a phase of looking like Tilda Swinton in photographs.  Actually, it was Cate Blanchett first. That was pretty full-on for a while,” Gleeson said while in the U.K. promoting the release there of Peter Rabbit in which he co-stars with James Corden.

“People would come up to me in the street, saying, ‘Can I just tell you: you look so much like Cate Blanchett.’”

The beard that 34-year-old Dubliner Domhnall now sports will hopefully prevent such comparisons in the future!  And at least Peter Rabbit is doing quite well at the box office. It’s up to $94 million in the U.S. alone, and cost only $50 mil to make.
