The Luebbers family has chosen two charities where donations can be sent to in lieu of flowers

The funeral for Ian Luebbers, World Irish Dancing Champion, will be held in his hometown of Downingtown, Pennsylvania on June 18 with a separate memorial service scheduled for June 25 in Dublin.

The 24-year-old passed away on June 11. In a statement, the Luebbers family said: “The authorities have no reason to believe that Ian’s death was anything other than an accident.”

Since his death, the worldwide Irish dance community has come together to remember the massively talented Irish dancer as an “inspiration.” In 2018, Luebbers was named the Men's Senior World Irish Dancing champion, competing under the Dublin-based Holly and Kavanagh Dance Academy.

The obituary for Ian Luebbers said: “an evening viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2019, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown.”

“An additional viewing will be held for 9:00-10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 18, 2019, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 332 Manor Avenue, Downingtown.”

“Interment will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.”

In an Instagram post, Ian's younger brother Owen said: "A memorial service will be held 3 pm Tuesday, June 25th at St. Francis Xavier Church, Gardiner Street Upper, Dublin, Ireland and will be live streamed. (10 am eastern standard)."

The Luebbers family has chosen two charities in which people can make donations in lieu of flowers: The National Alliance on Mental Illness in Keystone, PA, and Pieta House in Ireland.

Following Luebbers’s death, friends of the family launched a GoFundMe to help assist in funeral costs. As of Monday morning, the site has more than quadrupled its initial goal of $5,000 with more than $23,000 raised.
