Cars smash into each other like dodgems in a Dublin estate as local residents look on.

Gardaí (Irish police) are investigating after shocking footage of joyriders playing dodgems through a Dublin residential estate was posted online.

As local residents look on and take videos, at least three cars are seen crashing into each other, crashing up onto sidewalks and almost colliding into [arker cars nearby as they face-off with each other in a housing estate in Finglas, Dublin.

The videos are believed to have been taken on Saturday, May 11, and were shared via social media app WhatsApp. The four-minute-long video shows a number of people observing the collisions from a green in the center of an estate while one person approaches one of the cars and begins to kick one of the doors near the end of the footage.

"Gardaí in Finglas are investigating incidents of dangerous driving and other related traffic offenses that occurred in the Berryfield area of Finglas on the evening of the 11th May 2018,” said a statement from the Gardaí.

"There were no reports of injuries and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact them in Finglas on 01 6667500."
