This year marks the 1000th anniversary of the Battle of Clontarf and the death of the great High King Brian Ború. The Irish language and culture society, Cumann na Gaeilge i mBoston, invites people with all levels of Irish (including no Irish!) to celebrate with a day of language, culture, and craic at their annual Lá Gaeilge (Irish Day). The theme this year is “Irish Heroes.”

Lá Gaeilge 2014 will offer language workshops for all levels from beginner to fluent, storytelling with tales of the great Irish heroes, a seisiún, and more. Visiting teachers will join the regular staff, this year, and there will be a special advanced showing of Irish director Paul O’Halloran’s new short film, Ard Laoch na hÉireann (The Hero of Ireland).

Cost for the day is only $40.00 ($35.00 for members) and breakfast and lunch are included. If you've ever thought about learning Irish, want a fun reason to use the Irish that you have, or want to find out what Cumann na Gaeilge has to offer — and meet some very friendly people — this a great opportunity to try things out. Bígí linn…"join us"… Come celebrate and learn!
