Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Kanye West and the E Street Band will perform in a Superstorm Sandy benefit concert on December 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The show called “12-12-12” because of its date, has a growing list of star acts signing on. Billy Joel, The Who, Alicia Keys, and Jon Bon Jovi are some of the artists signing on.

Event producers James Dolan, John Sykes, and Harvey Weinstein told New York CBS, “The response from the entertainment community to help those most affected by Hurricane Sandy has been nothing short of astounding. We are confident that the event will ensure those in need will not be forgotten, and vital aid will be redirected to rebuilding our communities along the East Coast.”

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Robin Hood Relief Fund to help those in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut affected by Hurricane Sandy. The storm passed through the area two weeks ago causing significant damage and power outages.

New Jersey native Jon Bon Jovi performed “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” on NBC’s benefit concert aired on November 3. The concert ended on a high note with Springsteen and E Street Band singing “Land of Hope and Dreams.” Christina Aguilera performed “Beautiful” and Joel sang “Miami 2017 (Seen the Lights Go Out on Broadway)”. Mary J. Blige sang “the worst is over/ I can start living now” in her ballad “The Living Proof.”

The concert was aired from Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, just blocks north of where the city lost power. The concert was aired on NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, E! Entertainment, The Weather Channel, and Bravo. In a sadly ironic twist, millions of people for whom the concert was aired to aid, were unable to watch it because electricity had not yet been restored.

Information on how to buy tickets to the Superstorm Sandy benefit concert will be released in the following days.
