The Guinness Storehouse will celebrate Arthur's Day today by offering complimentary 'upgraded experiences' to lucky visitors.
These unique experiences will include a 'Pint Pouring Master Class' with Guinness Master Brewer, Fergal Murray, the chance to enjoy a Guinness with a member of the Guinness Family, a specially commissioned 'Guinness Connoisseur Tour' or vouchers to savour a complimentary lunch at the attraction's recently launched new food experience, FIVE.
In addition, the 1,759th visitor on the day will receive two tickets to the Arthur's Day celebrations in the Hopstore at St. James's Gate Brewery, which take place this evening at 17:59.
"The Guinness Storehouse is the Home of Guinness, located in the heart of the legendary St. James's Gate Brewery", commented Managing Director, Paul Carty, "and where better to be on Arthur's Day in the lead up to the global toast and celebrations at 17:59 than here, where Arthur began his remarkable legacy 252 years ago".
Mr Carty continued, "Visitors to the Storehouse on this special day will have the chance to receive a unique experience unlike any other day at the Home of Guinness. In addition, by simply checking-in at the Guinness Storehouse on Facebook, visitors can play their part in raising money for the Arthur Guinness Fund and continuing Arthur's philanthropic philosophy".
This fund helps support social entrepreneurs who are driving positive change in local communities in Ireland and around the world. This Arthur's Day, Guinness fans with a smartphone are invited to 'check in' via Facebook whilst at the Guinness Storehouse or in a pub on Arthur's Day. For every 'check in' received via Facebook places, Guinness will donate €5 to the Arthur Guinness Fund up to a maximum of €500,000.
Since opening its doors in 2000, the Guinness Storehouse has welcomed over 9 million visitors from 25 countries around the world and is Ireland's number one international visitor attraction. The building, a former fermentation plant holds a seven storey Guinness experience which allows visitors gain an understanding of why Guinness has become one of the world's most iconic and best loved brands. The highlight for many is the Gravity Bar, where visitors can enjoy unparalleled panoramic views of Dublin City while savoring a complimentary pint of Guinness.
The Guinness Storehouse will open as usual at 9.30am on Arthur's Day, 22 September 2011, but will close early at 3.30pm.
