The 55-year-old rocker , Bono, visited Canters Deli in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, May 30, and asked a 50-year-old female waitress to pick out his meal for him.

And it seems the 'One' hitmaker was impressed with her choice of a traditional Jewish plate of corned beef reuben, french fries and onion rings as he left a hefty tip for his $20 meal, which also included a free chocolate chip rugelach for dessert, a source told Billboard magazine.

Bono enjoyed his meal so much, he even told the crowd about it at the group's third night of their five-night residency at the city's Forum venue.

A show report on the band's website stated: "Before' Iris (Hold Me Close)', there was talk of LA resident The Edge leaving 'blood on the dance floor' after the band's club gig the night before at the Roxy, as well as Bono's recent trip to the famed Canter's deli. U2's love for L.A. was proclaimed - all of LA - downtown, the valleys, the canyons, and its feeling of 'what might be'. "
